About the Staff
It all started with my now 26 year-old-son, John Paul, who was part of a homeschool FLL team in our neighborhood. His team won the NC state championship and were invited to worlds. This ignited a passion within him to teach children about robotics, programming and FLL. We started our first camp in our basement for other homeschoolers and have carried on this tradition each year expanding to larger facilities each year.
John Paul, our founder at age 12, has been running his own cryptocurrency business he had started in high school and is an entrepreneur in Houston, TX selling crytoccurrency mining equipment on line at Miningstore. My 19 year-old, Michael is now a mechanical engineer at UNCC and will be the main instructor for this summer's camp along with his four other siblings who have all participated in the FLL (and some in FIRST) robotic competitions.
We see our camp as on outreach to the community to ignite a spark of excitement for STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through the use of Lego Robotics. The "hands-on"experience of designing, building, programming and running the robot will spark a life time interest in these fields. We use the proceeds to help fund our future entrepreneurs and engineering students
The Robotics Camp in Cary uses the Lego technology to allow campers to experience the excitement and value of STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Because we limit the size of our camps, each child has the opportunity to experience hands on design and engineering. We model our camp around the format of First Lego League, which not only promotes the basic skills for building and programming, but also the opportunity to work as a team which builds communication skills, interpersonal relationships and leadership qualities in our campers. During the several years, our family run robotics camp has reached the community with excitement of STEM through robotics camp. Our instructors have participated in both First Lego League and FIRST robotics. We are familiar with FIRST organization and the wonderful opportunities this program provides, which helps instill a love and passion for science, technology, engineering and math. We are excited about this years camps!
